Contest Information

The Regional Contest

  1. There will be 8 problems in the regional contest.
  2. All problems will be in English.
  3. There will only be one computer provided for each team. Each team must program, test, and submit their solutions with the provided computer.
  4. Contestants may bring any printed materials including textbooks, manuals, or any printed papers.
  5. Any electronic devices are not permitted during the contest.

Team Composition

Each team must consist of 3 team members. In the case of an absent team member, substitutions are allowed given the coach notifies the Regional Contest director in a timely manner. Schools may register up to 3 teams. A maximum of 3 teams can be enrolled (with the third team's registration allowed if there is still enough space). Each team member must be eligible to participate in the contest using the eligibility decision tree. In general, a valid contestant can not have more than 5 years of post-secondary education and at least be taking a half-course load. Contestants must also not have previously entered 2 world finals or 5 regionals. Each team requires a coach (typically a faculty member) who will train the team and be the official point-of-contact with team prior to and during the contest.
