Prof. Barron's primary research interests include the measurement and interpretation of optical flow. Recent work includes work on using optical flow to measure plant growth, a comparison and analysis of some optical flow methods and the recovery of 1st and 2nd order motion parameters and relative depth parameters from noisy optical flow computed from real images in a Kalman filter framework. Other work includes tracking storms in Doppler radar data and the computation of range flow.
