I have a joint appointment between the Department of
Computer Science (Faculty of Science) and Faculty of
Information and Media Studies. My research and teaching are
cross-disciplinary--at the intersection of computer science,
cognitive psychology, education, media and information
sciences, human-computer interaction, and knowledge
management.
My current research interests are in:
- Application of cognitive, learning and knowledge sciences to interactive systems design
- Information, knowledge, and learning architecture and design
- Knowledge and information visualization (including visualization of stories)
- Design of computer-based tools to assist human thinking
- Knowledge management and organizational learning
- Human-computer interaction design
- Integrating multimedia and learning technology (including educational games and tele-learning)
- Investigating interaction between the human mind and technology
