Local and Regional Attractions

London is nestled in the heart of Southwestern Ontario and stands at the forks of the Thames River, just a two hour drive from Toronto, to the east, and two hours from the Windsor-Detroit border, to the west. London is one of the oldest cities in Canada and the 10th largest, with a population of over 400,000. For those of you wanting to plan some extra time in southern Ontario, may we suggest some of the following attractions:

Southwestern Ontario offers outstanding choices in theatre. Stratford , Ontario is the home of the largest classical repertory theatre in North America. If you visit Niagara Falls we also encourage you to check out the Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Toronto is the third-largest theatre centre in the English-speaking world, after New York City and London. Of special note is Toronto's hosting of the world debut (beating out London, UK and NYC) of the musical Lord of the Rings which opens in March 2006.
