CS 635: Visualization of created and acquired data

The course starts with an introduction to the representations of data suitable to visualization. This, in turns, includes principles of modelling of artificial objects (Boundary Representation, Splines, Constructive Solid Geometry, for instance), modelling of plants’ growth, interpretation of data according to the source of acquisition (CAT scans, surface scanning), enhancement techniques and graphics utilities.

For this coming year, the first part will coincide with CS488b. The second part will consist of a supervised project.

Lecturer: Irene Gargantini, MC 381.
