Winter Session 2006

These software packages and resources are not mirrored locally. The availability of
other sites is not under our control. If you find a dead link, please
report it and we will attempt to fix it.
-
Since we did not author these packages or resources, we cannot guarantee their correctness
in your home computing environment (or GAUL, for that matter). Please
use it carefully and follow all instructions and documentation.
If you
encounter difficulties with any of this, please let us know and we will
either attempt to have the authors revise it, or remove the link.
-
Game Maker Home Page. This is the game development packaged used in the course this term.
-
Game Maker Download Page. Game Maker can be freely downloaded and installed at home. However, this version lacks some features that the registered (paid-for) version offers. The GAUL lab in MC342 will have the latest registered version installed if those features are important, and you do not want to purchase the software yourself.
-
Game Maker Documentation. Web viewable and printable versions of documentation can be found here. The recommended course texts (linked here and here) might also be of assistance.
-
Game Maker Tutorials. In addition to the above documentation, several tutorials may be downloaded and followed to assist in your development efforts.
-
Game Maker Sample Games. This page contains links to editable Game Maker games as well as a few that are not. The editable games can be loaded and examined within Game Maker whereas the others cannot. (These others still serve as a good example to show you what can be done in Game Maker. As another excellent example, you should take a look at Duck Doom ... expect to waste some time here if you like Duck Hunt, Doom, or, in particular, some combination of the two! :)
-
Game Maker Resources. This page lists art and sound assets, plus other resources that might be useful to you. You might want to check out our own assets page for others, and let us know if you find others!
-
Game Maker Forums. Some pretty good forums discussing development issues with Game Maker.
