Computer Science 175a:
An Introduction to the UNIX Operating System

This course is NOT being offered in the 1999/2000 school year.

This course will expose the student to modern, multi-user operating systems principles through a detailed study of the UNIX environment. The C programming language, Bourne Shell programming, and the AWK pattern-matching language will be used as vehicles for exploring the capabilities of UNIX.

This course is intended for students in the Science, Social Science, Engineering, and Business disciplines who need a solid introduction to UNIX and C.
