Notes on Course Content

I trust that you will notice from this topical overview that the course is not just an Introduction to the UNIX Operating System. In fact, we will spend (approximately) on third of our time talking about general UNIX features, one third discussing the specifics of Bourne Shell and AWK programming, and one third of the time talking about the C Programming Language. There is a LOT of C in this course and since most of it shows up in the last half of the course, the final exam will have a LOT of C in it.
