Common Slop Multiple Access with Cow Detect
Found on the last page of "The RED REPORT", the newsletter from
R.E.D. Electronics Inc.
E.I.E.I.O. specifies the spacing and number of pigs in a single trough.
Pigs must be spaced no closer than 2.55 meters, with a maximum of 100
pigs and a total trough length of 500 meters.
All pigs contend for feed access by adhering to CSMA/CD (Common Slop
Multiple Access with Cow Detect). With CSMA/CD pigs contend for access
to the feed. If a cow is detected the pig waits a random amount of time
before attempting access again, thus assuring access to all pigs.
