Only Hispanic in America

From the Globe and Mail Report on Business, 1992 March 11

	Only In America

A U.S. court recently ruled that Rutgers University professor Alfred
Bennun was entitled to sue his employer on the grounds it denied him
a promotion because he was a Hispanic. (The U.S. Civil Rights Act
	bars discrimination against Hispanics.)

The judge allowed Mr. Bennun to sue even though his mother was born
in Romania and his father in Israel. It said he was Hispanic
because his father was a Sephardic Jew whose ancestors had been
	expelled from Spain in 1492.

So Mr. Bennun sued. Not only that, but he won. But that's America
	-- land of opportunity.
