I am an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics. My primary interests are medical health informatics, machine learning, and clinical decision support.

Potential graduate students:

Interested MSc and PhD students both in Computer Science and in Biostatistics should apply through the appropriate Western University channels. Note that I am not accepting additional students before Fall 2018.

Aug 2012 My student Ayman Shalaby is visiting Cloudera for an internship to hone his Big Data skills.

Aug 2011 I am delighted to have joined the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo as an assistant professor.
