The London and Area Association for Volunteer Administration (L.A.V.A.) exists to promote volunteer management and to provide leadership to the managers in this field. We celebrate our 40th Anniversary, 1973 - 2013. Our Vision: A community of professionals adhering to recognized standards of practice, who provide outstanding leadership in the experience and impact of volunteers on the organization and individuals they serve. Our stated goals are: -To promote professionalism within the field of volunteer management -To hold meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, etc. for the purpose of exchange of ideas and provisions of information about current practices, problems and advances in the field of volunteer management. -To collaborate with and assist educational institution to provide training for Directors and/or Coordinators of Volunteer Services. -To advocate on behalf of the profession of volunteer management. -To encourage the development of volunteerism.
