Scorched3D OS X
First of all, let me state that this is not the Scorched3D homepage. Please go here for Scorched3D.
Motivation
Scorched3D running as an application, showing up in the dock.
Scorched3D is a super fun game which runs on all sorts of platforms, including Apple's OS X (my operating system of choice right now). Unfortunately, it does not run as an OS X application; it just runs as an ordinary and boring X11 application.
With this in mind, I decided to make an OS X application that would launch Scorched3D for you and generally behave like an ordinary application. The core of it is a shell script which switches to the correct directory, and then launches the Scorched3D executable. This has a few benefits:
- you can just double-click on the appicon anywhere you find it;
- you can drag it onto your dock, etc.;
- you should be able to find it and run it directly from Spotlight.
