A one year post-doctoral position (with a possibility of extension) is
available at the computer science department, University of Western
Ontario, Canada, under the supervision of Yuri Boykov and Olga
Veksler. Our computer vision laboratory is funded by NSERC, CFI, ERA,
NIH grants. We conduct research in several areas of computer vision,
including: 2D/3D segmentation, 3D reconstruction, and combinatorial
optimization algorithms for computer vision/medical image processing.
We provide a friendly and relaxed environment, and at the same time
have a unique expertise in graph-cuts based optimization for computer
vision.
Applicants are expected to have finished, or about to finish their
Ph.D. degrees, have strong mathematical background, especially in the
area of combinatorial optimization, have a track record of
publications in top computer vision conferences, and have strong
programming skills. Possible projects include: multi-view
reconstruction, motion segmentation, 2D/3D segmentation, vision for
graphics, combinatorial optimization. A suitable project will be
chosen depending on the interests of the candidate.
The University of Western Ontario is located on 155 hectares of land
along the banks of the Thames River in London , Ontario - a thriving
