    The award is presented to acknowledge that students engaged in applied public health epidemiology will help shape the future of public health in Ontario. This award recognizes the best student abstract/poster as determiend by the current APHEO conference/workshop planning committee and is presented at the time of the annual APHEO gathering.     Western Computer Science Research Presentation Winner for the Human-Computer Interaction Track
    Participants in the conference give a 20-minute presentation on either a current or proposed research topic followed by a 5 minute question period. In each session, faculty members will rank the presentations and the top presenter for each track is recognized.

    Western’s 3-Minute Thesis People’s Choice Award

    3MT (Three Minute Thesis) is a research communication competition where graduate students have 3 minutes or less to present their research and its impact to a panel of non-specialist judges and peers. The exercise develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience.

    Western Industry Problem-Solving Trophy
    It is a campus-wide opportunity for students of all graduate levels to interact with local industry representatives, and solve real-world problems. In 2013 our team won the trophy by creating a solution for Big Night Restaurants & Bars.

My responsibilities as a fellow included developing the Faculty’s Teaching and Learning website and supporting the Dean’s Office initiatives on faculty and TA professional development.

    Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges
    Who’s Who Among Students has become one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation, having earned the overwhelming respect of college faculties and administrations. And for the students – the outstanding campus leaders of the year – national recognition by the Who’s Who program marks a pinnacle of scholastic achievement. Selections to Who’s Who Among Students are made each fall by individual schools. Campus nominating committees, created to nominate the upper-classmen and graduate students eligible for the program, are composed of representatives from the faculty, administration and student body.
