Alana Deng

About Me

Hello gorgeous! I'm Alana, and I'm currently a PhD student in Statistics at Simon Fraser University, in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. Before SFU, I was in Western University for my MSc in Computer Science, and I had also worked as a research intern in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria.

I'm passionate about developing computational tools that support real-world decisions, particularly in healthcare and medicine. My research explores representation learning and interaction prediction within complex biological networks and signals.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy musical theatre, climbing, short hikes, cooking, musical theatres, traveling (Victoria, BC is definitely my all-time favorite spot), and just about anything Disney.
