If you have no programmign experience whatsoever, then take CS1026.
If you have used arrays and subprograms ("functions", "subroutines" or "methods"), then take CS 1025.

Assignments
Computing Environment
To do the assignments you may use your own computer or the computers
in the Computer Science Department labs MC 8, MC 10, MC 230, MC 235 (when
they are not otherwise scheduled).
If you wish to use your own computer, you
will need to have a Java programming environment on it, for example as described here.
Handing In
The assignments are to be handed in via WebCT. Please see
these WebCT instructions.
- Assignment 1. Given Sept 16. Due Sept 29.
- Assignment 2. Given Sept 30. Due Oct 13. (It wasn't linked to the course page, though, until Oct 5 so it can be handed in without penalty until Oct 19. This is an absolute deadline, however, and the assignment cannot be handed in after that.)
- Assignment 3. Given Oct 27. Due Nov 3.
- Assignment 4. Given Nov 2. Due Nov 16.
- Assignment 5. Given Nov 2. Due Nov 30.
