Summary

Acoustic-Based smart sensing for water leakage in pipelines enables the IoT devices to sense the leak in the pipe and reduce the damage caused through them. There are many existing methods in dealing with this problem of leaks, but every method has its own limitations, and some are expensive. A comprehensive research status on sensing the acoustic signal inside the pipe is outlined in this reading course. Also, a potential solution to the above problem is investigated where the features of the acoustic signal produced are extracted with the help of MFCC (Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients) and analyzed to detect the presence of the crack or leakage in the pipe..
