Hello gorgeous! I'm Alana and I'm starting in September 2025 as a PhD student in Statistics at Simon Fraser University, in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Science from Western University, and previously worked as a research intern in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria.
I'm passionate about developing computational tools that support real-world decisions in health and medicine. My research explores representation learning and interaction prediction within complex biological networks.
Outside of research, I enjoy golfing, climbing, short hikes, cooking, musical theatres, traveling (Victoria, BC is my all-time favorite — never gets old), and just about anything Disney (see background for my fav characters).
