Achieved an Honours B.A. in Psychology from the University of Windsor.  Worked as a street youth outreach counsellor for two years in New York. After working for a year as a detention worker took a position at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital as a Forensic Psychometrist and as a counsellor in the Short-Term Crisis and Intervention Unit. After many fulfilling years, sought out a new challenge in a different direction and achieved an MSc in Computer Science from Western with a thesis based on the theme of AI and the analysis of Genetic Algorithms. Worked at the IBM Labs in Toronto after graduation until starting a software development corporation with product lines specific to managing business operations for medium to large companies. Once the business became more self sufficient began looking for something and was offered the opportunity to teach a computer science class at Western. What started as a hobby turned into a passion and has transitioned into a full-time position at Western while moving into an advisory role for the company. Continuing the trend of exploring divergent part-time career opportunities.
